20 down...20 to go!!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY BOY!!!!

Week: 20
Baby: Baby B is the length of a banana. At the doctor last week, he/she weighed about 11 ounces. Baby B is swallowing more and is now measured from head to heel instead of head to rump.
Total weight gain: 4 pounds
Sleep: Sleep is great!
Favorite moment of the week: Gender reveal...Baby B is a BOY!!! We are beyond thrilled to have a little, stinky boy joining our family. The gender reveal party was amazing! I wrote all about it at the bottom.
Miss anything? Riding comfortably in a car for 11 hours! Ha! Not that anyone really is comfortable that long, but my tailbone is having a lot of pain...so that drive was really long both ways!!
Movement: I have felt Baby Boy move a few times over the past week. I was in the car one time, but it usually happens when I lay down at night.
Cravings: Nothing new....just lemonade!!
Anything make you queasy or sick? Not right now!
Gender prediction: We now know...it's a boy!!!
Labor signs: None
Symptoms: Just tailbone pain when I sit for too long. It feels like I fell and it is bruised. It is just sore all the time.
Mood: Great....especially knowing the gender now!
Looking forward to: Getting the room ready now and registering for gender specific things! Everything we have registered for up until this point was for either a boy or a girl. Now we know and can register for more specific things.
Freak-out moment of the week: So I'm losing my mind...literally! I left school on Monday and my car would not start. I was able to get into it using the key pad so I knew it wasn't the battery. I thought, "Great! Now I'm going to have to call AAA to come figure out what's wrong." The key was locked in, the steering wheel was locked...but when you tried to turn the key the air would come on and the radio dials would turn. I went it to get two of my co-workers to see if they had any idea what was wrong. Randi walked out there, got in my car, looked around for a second...then proceeded to tell me that I was losing my mind. I had left my car in "drive", shut it off, went inside and never thought about it. She pushed the brake in, shifted to "park" and the car turned right on. I had no idea I had left it in "drive" all day. It's little things like this that make me wonder how crazy I am going to be later on in this pregnancy....haha!! =)
Thankful for: Amazing family and friends that throw a gender reveal party! It was totally worth the 22 hours in the car to be with family and friends when we found out about our baby boy! I cannot even begin to describe that moment. My family outdid themselves on the party...I had to add a whole section at the bottom to post all of the pictures of their hard work.

School Baby Shower: May 20th
My baby shower at school was this past week and it was so much fun! I was so excited to have a group of ladies that loved on Baby B. We received many gift cards, a blanket, toys, a picture frame, a sweet duck outfit, teething rings and our swing/rocker. I was so excited about all of the goodies and sweet people who helped out! Here are some pictures from the shower!

The sweet cake and treats that Kelly Jennings put together for the shower! Thank you so much for hosting this fun event for me!

My amazing team that got me the swing/rocker!

Gender Reveal Party: May 25th
Our shower was on Sunday afternoon and the theme was: "What will Baby Bee?"

Loved this idea...everyone at the party signed the book.

Girl actually had more votes at the end! Ha!

The piƱata that had the reveal in it!

My amazing hostesses...Sara and Mom!

Probably my favorite picture from the whole weekend! Kyle and I were so excited to see the blue falling! Thanks for capturing this Josh!!

Aunt SaySay and Bebe

All four grandparents celebrating our baby boy!

Gigi and Bebe so excited about the reveal!!

This weekend was amazing!! We had such an amazing time and I cannot wait to start preparing to Baby Boy now!! We have picked out a name and will be revealing it later this week! =)

Week 19

Week: 19
Baby: Baby B is the size of a tomato this week. His/her senses are developing so he/she can taste, smell, hear, see and touch. Baby B can now hear my voice and weighs about 8.5 ounces.
Total weight gain: 4 pounds so far! I am really happy about this because it means I have more wiggle room from 20 weeks on.
Sleep: Sleep is great other than the random crazy dreams! I am also waking up a few times at night on my stomach and it is uncomfortable. My mom has a body pillow for me to use when I go home. I am excited to try it out and see if it will keep me from rolling onto my stomach during the night.
Favorite moment of the week: WE FOUND OUT THE GENDER!! Sort of.....

The tech was able to identify the gender, but did not tell us. She wrote it down in a card and we mailed it to my sister-in-law, Sara. She is the only one who knows right now. She texted me to tell me she got the card and that she wouldn't talk to me for a week. =) It is definitely harder knowing that someone close to me knows, but we have no way to find out until we get home!! Our gender reveal is May 25th back in Fort Smith, AR.
Miss anything? I miss a glass of wine. I love pinot grigio, and would just like a glass every now and then! I know that some people say a glass once in a while is okay, but I think that would only make me crave it more. So I am staying away...but a nice, relaxing glass does sound good.
Movement: We felt the baby move Sunday night for the first time. We were lying in bed about to turn the lights out when I felt this weird nudge on my lower right side (Baby B has been sitting on the right side since we found out we were pregnant....I'm lop-sided). I put my hand down there and felt a distinct budge on my stomach, so I grabbed Kyle's hand and made him feel. He had to push down a little more since he wasn't feeling it from the inside too. When he pushed down, Baby B kicked back. We were so excited to feel that for the first time!!
Cravings: LEMONADE ALL THE TIME!!
Anything make you queasy or sick? Not right now...I'm just hungry!
Gender prediction: We don't care.....we are just so ready to find out!!
Labor signs: None
Symptoms: The only symptom I have noticed is being hungry all the time. I just want to eat...every few hours! This may not be too great for my future weight gain! =)
Mood: Great!
Looking forward to: Our gender reveal May 25th! It cannot get here fast enough!!!
Freak-out moment of the week: I was really nervous about the anatomy exam since it had been over a month since I had seen Baby B. When we got there and they started the ultrasound, Baby B was perfect! The brain, heart and spine looked absolutely perfect. We got to see the heart beating, the spine was all closed and the brain looked correctly developed. We were so excited and happy to see Baby B bouncing around in there.
Thankful for: This week I am thankful for my mother and sister-in-law who have worked so hard to put together this gender reveal coming up. They have kept every piece of it a secret from us....we don't even know how we are finding out the gender. I am so blessed to have a family that wants to celebrate this new life with us. I can't wait to be with them and find out with them. This support system is incredible!!

Week 18

Haha...not the best picture this week, but I wanted to wear my gown for the picture to document the exciting occasion!

Week: 18
Baby: Baby B weighs almost 7 ounces now. She or he is flexing arms and legs...which I should start noticing soon. His or her ears are now in their final position. Depending on the gender, their reproductive organs are formed and in place. We will find out the gender next week.
Total weight gain: I will find out Wednesday!
Sleep: Sleep is great, but the dreams are still coming. They are just weird and wake me up several times a night.
Favorite moment of the week: My favorite moment does not necessarily have to do with Baby B. This past week I graduated with my Master's in Educational Administration. It was an exciting week and I was very excited to achieve this.

Miss anything? I miss not getting worn out so quickly. If I get too hot or worked up, I am absolutely out of breath. Ha! I know that it doesn't help that I am out of shape too, but still...it's a little ridiculous to be out in the heat 5 minutes and be out of breath! =)
Movement: None yet, but it should be any day now!
Cravings: Chili's has the best watermelon lemonade...I am officially addicted! I am still on my lemonade kick...I want it all day, everyday! My sweet Aunt (in-law) sent me a care package for Mother's Day and included some strawberry lemonade packets from Starbucks in it. I was beyond thrilled to have them on the go!
Anything make you queasy or sick? I tried smelling chicken noodle soup the other day when Kyle heated some up...thinking that by now I should be over not liking this smell! FALSE! It still made me so nauseous. Nothing other than that right now though! This second trimester has been so much better than the first.
Gender prediction: All signs point to girl...but no clue!
Labor signs: Haha...no!
Symptoms: None right now other than cravings and none of my regular pants fit! Ha! Dresses are becoming my best friend and will be all summer.
Mood: Great this week...it was an exciting week with graduation!!
Looking forward to: Our anatomy ultrasound is on Wednesday and I can't wait to see Baby B! They will determine the gender, write it down on a card and seal it for me to mail to my sister-in-law. She will be the only one to know until Memorial weekend when we have a gender reveal.
Freak-out moment of the week: None this week other than being exhausted from testing at school and having to stand that long!
Thankful for: Since it's Mother's Day, I am thankful for grandmothers that Baby B will have. I am thankful for my Mom and how she sacrificed everything for me. She is so selfless and I admire to be a mother like her. I am also thankful for my mother-in-law and the endless love she shows me. I pray for the person Baby B will marry one day and that he/she has a great mother-in-law like mine one day. Baby B's grandmothers will be the best ones ever!

Week 17 - Month 5

Week: 17
Baby: Baby B is the size of a turnip! The cartilage is changing to bone and the umbilical cord is growing stronger. Baby B now weighs approximately 5 ounces and is 5 inches long from head to bottom.
Total weight gain: Not sure...we'll find out next week.
Sleep: Pretty good minus the weird dreams! I have been waking up around 4am and I find it really difficult to fall back asleep. I end up tossing and turning for the next hour and a half until my alarm goes off.
Favorite moment of the week: My favorite moment of the week was getting to go register for Baby B! I know we don't know the gender yet, but I have a shower at school in 2 weeks! We decided to go ahead of register for all the necessities beyond boy/girl items. We went with my fabulous friend, Emily, on Wednesday night to Buy Buy Baby so she could show me the ropes (she just had a baby in October)! On Sunday, Kyle and I went to Target and Babies 'R Us. It was so much fun picking out all of those goodies!
My other favorite moment of the week was when we purchased Baby B their first gift from Mommy and Daddy! We went to an antique store in Hayesville, NC and found a beautiful cedar chest that we could not pass up. This will be their special gift that they can treasure from us. I can't wait to see it all set up in the nursery.

Miss anything? I now miss my regular jeans fitting! Ha! I am pretty much down to maternity jeans only with the exception of a few regular pairs (but not my favorite ones)! =)
Movement: None yet, but I am ready to feel Baby B kicking!
Cravings: I want kid cereal....like Lucky Charms and Cocoa Krispies! These taste so good to me, and I know they're not good for me....but I want to eat them for every meal!
Anything make you queasy or sick? I was hoping I was over the queasiness of chicken noodle soup, but I am not! Kyle heated up some last night for him to eat, and I could not stand the smell of it. It was so gross...and I am sad because I loved chicken noodle soup!
Gender prediction:  Nope, but I am so ready to know!! May 14th is the anatomy appt and we will find out May 25th with everyone! =)
Labor signs: Nope
Symptoms: Restlessness at night at 4am...
Mood: Good
Looking forward to: The anatomy ultrasound on May 14th, and I am graduating Thursday (May 8)! I am so excited Baby B will be going us for this exciting day!!
Freak-out moment of the week: The only "freak-out" I had was just being overwhelmed by all there was to register for and how expensive having a baby will be. We are prepared for it, but it is still a lot when you are walking around the stores registering and you see all of those crazy price tags.
Thankful for: A fantastic Aunt and Uncle that Baby B will have! When we first found out we were pregnant, they were some of the first people to start spoiling Baby B. They got these onesies for him/her as a sweet gift. It was so much fun to get a little gift for the baby. They are going to be the best aunt and uncle ever!
